Nelson County High School is a four-year public high school with an enrollment of more than 600 students in grades nine through 12. The school is accredited by the Virginia State Board of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies, and health and physical education. The school has a foreign language department that offers classes in French and Spanish. Its special education program provides a variety of academic and vocational services to students with learning and mental disabilities. Located in Lovingston, Va., the school offers various sports activities, including football, volleyball, basketball, track, baseball, softball, soccer, cross country, cheerleading and golf. Its fine arts department includes art, chorus, drama and photography.
