The Milestone is a nonprofit organization that serves children and adults with developmental disabilities. The organization provides living skills, recreational activities and academic programs. It additionally offers nursing and social services and recreational and physical therapies. Founded in 1971, the Milestone operates more than 30 residential group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. The organization also includes a residential facility for children between the ages of 6 and 21 and offers personal care and safety services. It operates Milestone Industries that provides worker training and employment opportunities in an industrial setting. The Milestone offers respite programs and guidance and social services. The organization s developmental training program provides self care, social, educational and vocational skills to adults with physical and developmental disabilities.
