  In 1998, she completed her psychiatry residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she was named chief resident in her last year. She became board certified in June 2000 by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Geiger is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.

She has particular expertise in working with women’s issues as well as with the LGBT population. Her background in manufacturing and non-profit management as the Executive Director of Family Counseling Services give her a solid understanding of the stresses encountered in the workplace and what is needed to be successful.

  A native of Harrisburg, Ill., Dr. Geiger earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in 1984. She completed an internship in general surgery at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, N.D. and a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA, specializing in obstetric anesthesia. She is board certified in anesthesia.
