Luebben Johnson & Barnhouse LLP has four senior attorneys and three associate attorneys with 115 years of combined experience in representing Indian tribal governments and tribal entities as general counsel and in matters concerning environmental protection, water rights, land rights and natural resources ; commercial, business and real estate law ; and gaming ; taxation ; and economic development. The firm represents tribes and tribal entities throughout the western United States in water rights litigation, water settlement negotiations and legislation ; natural resources and sacred site protection ; structuring transactions ; drafting and reviewing contracts, resolutions and other documents ; developing legislation and legal codes ; and, working with all levels of federal, state, municipal and tribal governments. The firm also maintains an active litigation practice in tribal, state and federal courts. The firm's attorneys are licensed to practice in New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado, Washington, Oklahoma, South Dakota and the District of Columbia state and federal courts, the courts of the Navajo Nation, the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, the federal Second, Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Supreme Court.
