It took getting laid off from my job for me to take the steps necessary to pursue a career in the health care field. I had been working in various offices since I was 16 years old and even though Ive always been interested in nursing, I never had the opportunity to enroll in a program until I found out that I could go to school and keep receiving unemployment. Now, I am working as a Medical Assistant in Urgent Care at Norco Medical Group and as soon as I gain a little more experience, Ill go on to pursue my RN degree at West Coast University!
