Union Rescue Mission, founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of emergency and long-term care services, including food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care and transitional housing. It also provides legal assistance, education, counseling and job training. The mission has a multimedia learning center equipped with more than 30 computer terminals. Its courses include computers, graphic arts and design, business planning, accounting and janitorial services. It also has a family center that provides housing services to more than 200 homeless women and children. It offers school uniforms for children, books, shoes and after-school tutoring services.
