ABOUT THE TEACHER: Adam Irizarry has been immersed in the music scene as a singer and pianist since he was a child. Having sung for Ray Charles as a teen, he graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a bachelor's degree in jazz and pop vocal and piano performance, where he was the recipient of many awards and scholarships, and also a finalist in the Lena Horne vocal competition. In 2003, Adam starred as "The Piano Man" in the hit Broadway rock musical, "Movin' Out". Since then he has appeared all over the world as a singer and performer in musicals, benefits, corporate events and recording sessions. In 2009 Adam starred in the rock musical "Baby It's You" at the famed Pasadena Playhouse, to critical acclaim. In addition to being a cast member, Adam also musical directed and arranged this production at Pasadena Playhouse. Adam has studied with renowned classical voice teachers as well as rock/pop and jazz voice teachers, and he combines all of this experience and his "real world, road knowledge" into an easy to understand vocal curriculum that is customized to fit each individual student and his or her goals.
