Founded in 1950, the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society, also known as JEMS, is a nonprofit, para-church organization in California. The society is supported by the interdenominational network of Japanese and Asian American churches and especially by individual supporters. The Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society operates nichigo, music, sports and women s ministries. Its churches include Centenary United Methodist Church, Christ Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, Los Angeles Holiness Church and Union Church of Los Angeles.
