The Project Homekey program began as a way to address the growing concern about the homeless population during the COVID-19 crisis by fast-tracking the conversion of hotels into housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. With the success of the program, more and more hotels are being converted into housing. National COREâ??s Project Homekey sites will be used as transitional housing for the next three to five years and then will be transformed into high-quality, cost-contained affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.
