Last year it was 4.5 stars in quality & taste. We frequented it weekly and also stood in line for over 45 minutes. TODAY WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT! The grilled sea bass tasted and smelled fishy. I ordered French fries & coleslaw for all orders and received it only in one order. The rice was tasteless & bland. The lemon was dry and mangled.
In the middle of an industrial area, a stone's throw from Skid Row ... It looks like a fish market, sounds like a fish market (with a big outdoor patio with tables and benches)... but the food is unbelievably fresh and incredibly DELISH! Self serve, stand in long lines (BUT SO WORTH THE WAIT), pay attention, when he yells next, shout your order. Don't worry they always keep it straight and cash is preferable. (I don't think they take credit cards, just ATMs) Such a selection, giant prawns, fresh filets of shark, tuna, halibut... even fried calamari that's out of this world. Eating light? Fabulous huge fresh seafood salads; hankering for comfort food - creamy chowders, rich bisques, 7 seas soup... If you love seafood, this is your Nirvana! As if that were'nt enough the price is just right and the portions are a "working man's" size. Be prepared to not leave hungry, disappointed or broke. Next door there's the actual market where you have a fresh selection of seafood to take home.
