I have never met Mr. Alden, but I sure need to. I bought $4900 American Express Travlers Cheques, stolen by a care giver, along my ny driver's license. I followed AX's protocol, but after their refusal to pay me my money, which was the last dime I had in this world, a friend retained an attorney for me, who charged $3500,because of punitive damages, which has escalated to $15,000, and he withdrew. American Express tried to have me take $700, and sign off. I refused. Then they accused me of filing a fraudulant claim, saying that I tried to cash $700 in a casino,an employee called them to say I looked nervous, then ran away. They say a forensic specialist,verified my signature, but never was discovery done my lawyer. I was never in that casino,EVER, and could not RUN, or walk after my stroke..Being an out-of-work, disabled, 60 year old grandmother, who hasn't ever had a traffic ticket, AX has spent alot to avoid my refund.
