I was referred to Dr. Vatche V Keklikian for a root canal. I expressed my concern about having too many x-rays taken to his assistant (because I am 5 months PREGNANT!) and told his assistant that my dentist who referred me just took x-rays a week ago. The assistant disappeared, and out from behind the corner flew Dr. Vatche V Keklikian who immediately became aggressive with me, telling me that he needed to take x-rays if I wanted him to do a good job. I told him I was pregnant and concerned about the radiation. He did not appear to have any concern for what I had just said and proceeded to tell me that he may need to take 1, 2, 3...maybe 5 x-rays, "as is standard with a root canal." Additionally, he began to question me about whether I would take antibiotics if I needed them. I told him I would need to ask my OB. Dr. Vatche V Keklikian then said, "what if you were going to die?" At that point, I felt like his line of questioning was ridiculous and obviously he was missing the point...I AM PREGNANT AND CONCERNED FOR MY UNBORN BABY! Obviously, I needed dental care, but this being my first child, I have my guard up to aggressive doctors that want to give me just any old drug. I trust my OB, so Dr. Vatche V Keklikian should be able to call him and get approval. Long story short, I wasted an entire day, with tooth pain (after spending an entire weekend in pain), and had this traumatizing experience with this doctor. In my opinion, this doctor is a horrible person and has no regard for his patients, especially his pregnant patients. Don't waste your time...see someone else.
