Founded in 1973, CompuMed develops and markets medical devices and services in the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal fields that utilize computer and communications technologies to allow for rapid access to medical diagnostic information. The company s computer-aided telemedicine and diagnostics technology products include the OsteoGram and CardioGram systems. The OsteoGram, which is cleared by the Federal Drug Administration for commercial use, is a technology-based osteoporosis test that enables a hand X-ray to be used to precisely determine bone mineral density. The CardioGram system remotely interprets electrocardiograms and is used by private practice, government and corporate health care providers nationwide. CompuMed employs more than 20 people and is headquartered in Los Angeles.
