The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, also known as CHIRLA, is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of community education and advocacy programs. Established in 1993, its community education program includes seminars, telephone calls, training, town hall meetings, resource fairs and media outreach campaigns. The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles empowers community members and educates legislators and administrative agencies through its advocacy program. It also administers a community organizing program that features organization of household workers, day laborers and undocumented students to build leadership development.
