The Broad Foundation's purpose is to improve urban public education through better governance, management, labor relations and competition. With a group of foundations, it trains a bench of current and aspiring leaders in education, redefines the traditional roles, practices and policies of school board members, superintendents, principals and labor union leaders and honors and showcases success wherever it occurs in urban education. The Broad Foundation's target audiences includes school board members, superintendents, principals, union, aspiring and policy leaders and entrepreneurs. The Broad Foundations also offers the Broad Art Foundation and broad medical research program to serve the community. It is headquartered in Los Angeles.
