- Pattern Making$120.00Prerequisite: None; Average class size 4 students. Class Description: 3 Hours. Making your own patterns is a great skill to have and it allows you to replicate some of your favorite garments. Students learn two pattern making methods in this class. First we study how to replicate a garment by cutting it apart into flat pieces, and make a pattern using the garment's pieces. Then we learn the process of making a pattern without cutting a garment apart. We ask people attending for the first time to bring simple garments they wish to pattern, nothing complex. Garment with 3-4 pieces total is a good place to start like a t-shirt with a front, back, and sleeve. Please bring a selection of 3-5 garments to choose from. From this class a student is welcome to learn how to build a sample of what they patterned in the construction workshop offered.

This class introduces how to thread a "serger" and adjust the over-lock stitch depending on fabric types. Students are asked to bring their own working serger or they can learn on one of ours.
