OPTi's principal activities are to design, market and supply semiconductor products for the personal computer and embedded marketplaces. The principal functions of a personal computer are provided by the motherboard, consisting of a microprocessor, bus circuits, various memory devices and core logic circuits. The company offers both two-port and a four-port universal serial bus host controllers. It markets its products to personal computer manufacturers, add-in card suppliers, embedded systems and motherboard manufacturers in the United States, Asia and Europe. Peripheral products typically account for nearly 65 percent of revenues while core logic chipsets account for approximately 35 percent. OPTi is located in Palo Alto, Calif.
