The Public Works Department is operated by the city of Longview, Wash. The department provides various public services to citizens. It is responsible for planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and administering services related to infrastructure systems. The department s engineering division is responsible for keeping records, such as public street improvement details and information of existing public sewer, water and storm drainage systems. The Public Works Department also provides several curbside recycling programs. The department s sewer division maintains and operates sewer collection systems, repairs broken sewer lines and operates pump stations. It offers maintenance services for streets and storm water detention facilities. The Public Works Department s water division maintains and operates water distribution systems and repairs water lines.
