Todd County Social Services is a county department that provides chemical dependency, family counseling and housing rehabilitation services. Located in Long Prairie, Minn., the department also offers mental health care and medical assistance services. Its child support enforcement services include paternity establishment and the collection, distribution and enforcement of support orders. In addition, Todd County Social Services administers the Food Stamp Program, which includes financial assistance for low-income individuals and families to purchase food items. The department provides individual protection services related to abuse and neglect. It additionally administers the Energy Assistance Program (EAP), which provides crisis management and replacement services. The department is a part of the Minnesota Department of Human Services, which has a staff of more than 7,200 employees and offers employment-related and economic support services.
