Founded in 1964, Long Prairie Packing is a part of the Fresh Meats Division of American Foods Group, which is one of the largest, privately held meat producers in the United States. The Fresh Meats Division is a beef processing company that ships more than 3 million pounds of beef everyday. It serves clients in the food service, retail and international markets. American Foods Group has a staff of over 3,500 people. The group also operates Sheboygan Sausage Company, Great American Steak Company and Rock River Cattle Company. Its companies sell, sliced liver, steaks, and corned and ground beef.
