I have been going to UNI K for 4 years now and I can still say there is no other wax center like them in LIC or elsewhere in NYC in my experience. I have dark hair and very sensitive skin that does not like all the other places I tried in the NYC area (some big-name chains left my skin red and angry for weeks afterward). UNI K in Long Island City is a gem if you want a Brazilian wax that is thorough (no hair left behind), can be done in 15 minutes AND does not make you cry. This is an unusual thing for those of you who get regular waxing. I strongly recommend Muna and Nimita, who are both extremely gentle yet fast and never leave any hair behind. Also, their wax treatment never left my skin red or darkened my skin afterward. The space is bright, airy, and very clean and they never made me wait for my appointment. They also take walk-ins but I would call ahead first or you can make an appointment if your schedule is tight (they always saw me on time).
