General Info
Located In Lone Tree, Colo., Word of Life Christian Center has a rich Holy Ghost heritage of ministry in the Denver area. In 1970, Pastor Tim Bagwell’s father, the late Reverend H.R. Bagwell, began pastoring Faith Temple, which resided on the corner of 11th and Acoma Street in Denver. This church grew significantly with several hundred in attendance. Faith Temple was known around the city for the signs, wonders and healings that permeated its services. In 1981, Rev. H.R. Bagwell relocated the ministry. Several years later, after pastoring and leading thousands to Jesus during his 55 years of ministry, Reverend Bagwell retired. It was at this point that he called his son, Tim Bagwell, and asked him to succeed him as the senior pastor. Pastor Bagwell, who was currently the senior pastor of the largest non-denominational church in Kokomo, Indiana, was confronted with an enormous decision. After considerable prayer, the Bagwell family relocated to Denver in 1985. Under new leadership, the church was renamed Word of Life. In less than five years, Word of Life grew and was in desperate need of an enlarged facility to prevent stagnation. Pastor Bagwell began the search for a new building. After months of searching, in June of 1990, through a miraculous set of circumstances, Pastor Bagwell found a new home and the congregation relocated to the corner of Dry Creek and South Clarkson Street. The next ten years produced great growth, favor, and supernatural outpouring of the Holy Spirit. During this season, the reputation of Word of Life Christian Center as a church that proclaimed and demonstrated the love and power of God became known throughout the city. Word of Life Christian Center became a place where those who were hungry for the bold, uncompromising Word to be spoken into their lives, could go. It was a place that manifested the power of the Holy Ghost with signs, wonders, miracles and a true prophetic proclamation. From 1990 - 2000, some of the greatest ministries in America blessed the people of Word of Life Christian Center. Great generals in the Spirit like Oral Roberts, Morris Cerullo, Phil Driscoll, Gary Oliver and Myles Munroe and many others deposited greatness into our church. They also began to challenge us to enlarge our vision and to take the incredible step of developing and building our new facility. The incredible sacrifice of many people became the backbone of Word of Life Christian Center’s future. Through their faithfulness, we were able to open this ministry facility on Park Meadows Drive that will equip not only this generation, but also generations to come. Our ministries include -Momentum children’s ministry -Pulse – youth -The Mix -Sparkle girl’s ministry -Life groups -Missions -WOL Christian Academy We are destined to make a deeper impact on this world and we believe that this congregation will meet needs, change lives, and loose a fresh anointing on all those whom we come into contact with. We believe we are strategically positioned to make a regional and generational impact for the Kingdom of God in this new millennium. We invite you to join us in fellowship.

Provided by DexKnowsI attended this church for (I am ashamed to say) a year before seeing the light and leaving. This is a Prosperity Gospel church and people come because the pastor is always promising they are about to receive "a blessing" (financial) if they just believe and give. But the irony is that the only one getting that blessing is the pastor and his family.Basically this is a family business. Tim Bagwell is a dynamic speaker who can yell the way pentecostal preachers do and rile the crowd up. At times he will interject some scripture into his messages but in the end if you really study what he preaches it's nothing but fluff. His sons (who have zero talent in the preaching department and should NOT be in the "ministry") are fully on the payroll as well. They all drive expensive cars, live in million-dollar homes, and are treated like celebrities with reserved parking spots, and "handlers" who usher them into church. The church centers around the pastor and his family, period. There is no Sunday School, no small groups, nothing. The women's ministry is nothing but a glossy magazine with the "first lady" (pastor's wife) always on the cover and meaningless fluff articles. I believe the church is purposely designed this way so that the Bagwells maintain complete control. You will not hear the true Gospel of Christ here. You will not hear about sin or repentance or salvation. You will hear about "needing God to make your life right" which is equated to God being your Santa and making you rich. Like 2 Timothy 3:5, this is a place that has a "form of Godliness but denies the power". This is a false gospel. This is a place of blasphemy. For the first lady's birthday they had women stand by the altar with baskets and people were instructed to walk down and deposit their gifts. For weeks the pastor reminded us to "slip a little something" in her cards. When you see something like this taking place in a church where worshiping God should be the center you realize just how far they have fallen with their false prosperity gospel. It is amazing that a family can essentially own a church and reap the financial benefits from tax-free tithes given by members. Is there ever any oversight? Who holds this family accountable for the millions of dollars that come in?Take my advice and go elsewhere. Do not get sucked in by the loud music and promise of riches. The only riches here are those lining the pockets of the pastor and his family.

Provided by DexKnowsCame across this guy while channel-surfing. There is no substance here at all. Nothing but the "prosperity gospel" and word-of-faith teaching. Yes, God can become your magic genie. You folks who go there need to wake up. The only one who is "prospering" is him and his family, and it is off of your backs.

Provided by DexKnowsMy family and I just relocated to the Denver Metro area. We were looking for specific things in the church we wanted to attend. Some of the things we were looking for were "shallow" such as proximity and children's program. However, the important thing for us was the spiritual condition of the church. In a day and age of "seeker sensitive" churches, we wanted a church where the Pastor wasn't afraid to speak the truth and a church that operated under the annointing and power of the Holy Spirit. I think we found our church. If you are looking for a traditional, dogmatic mass or service, this is not the church for you. If you are looking for church that is spirit-filled and with annointed worship then this is the church for you. As far as being labeled a Megachurch, I cannot see that at all. The building seats about 1,000. Since we have been there, there are probably 400-600 that attend regularly. It's small enough where you feel connected and big enough to offer programs for children, teenagers, young adults, women's minstry, missionary ministry, etc. God bless you and whether you attend WOL or not, as the body of Christ let us always seek after the face of God! Amen!

Provided by DexKnowsPastor Bagwell and his family are definitely being used God. Pastor Tim preaches the true Gospel without any thought but to please God. I've been attending the church since 2001 and every time I would move away God would always send me back to where He has planted me. I love this family as my own. Thank God for putting His love in the Bagewell family- so people like me can be fed the meat of the Word, and not milk and cookies.Thank you Pastor
