Applewood is a private, non-profit early care and education program for children from six weeks through thirteen years in the Derry/Londonderry area since 1989.

My children both attend Applewood. They started in the Infant room; my son is now in Kindergarten and my daughter is in the Toddler room. It is a wonderful place for them! My son was a year old when I went back to work and after visiting several places, I almost turned down the job! Then we visited Applewood and not only did I like it, but my son immediately responded to Elena and was all smiles! It has been great ever since. My daughter only attends 3 days a week but her brother attends daily. On her off days, we can't take her to drop off her brother because she gets very upset that she isn't staying! They have really given my children a love of learning. When my son practices his writing, he'll beg me to please let him practice one more letter before bed. We love it at Applewood!
My daughter loves it at Applewood! She started in the preschool and is now in kindergarten. The teachers are professional and caring, my daughter gets lots of one-on-one attention and the teachers really know her and her developmental strengths and needs. As a non-profit school, I know my tuition is going towards high quality staff and programming, and it shows! All of the teachers have degrees (Bachelor's, Masters, Associate's)and they do a lot of extra training, too. There is a lot of family involvement like a back-to-school barbecue, art-show and pot-luck dinner, fundraising events and parent-teacher conferences. I wish we had found Applewood sooner so my daughter could have experienced the amazing infant and toddler programs! A++ for Applewood!
