Founded in 1961 and located in Warrington, Pa., Polysciences specializes in the manufacturing of chemical products used in polyscientific applications. It provides a wide range of polystyrene and other types of microparticles, including the BioMag series of superparamagnetic particles. Its microparticles are used in various applications, such as magnetic separation, cell sorting, nucleic acid purification, calibration, cytometry, microscopy and histology. Its chemical products are also used for immunoassay, a biochemical test that measures the level of a substance in biological liquids, such as serums and urine. The company provides more than 3,000 polysciences products, such as acetones, acrylic acid, dehydration reagents, electron microscopy reagents and decalcifying products. Additionally, Polysciences provides chemicals, such as polyacrylic acid used in chemical mechanical polishing and microscope slides and accessories.
