- VeneersThe risks include the possibility of instruments broken within the root canals; extrusion of endodontic irrigating solution causing facial swelling; extrusion of filling materials necessitating further treatment; perforations (extra openings) of the crown or root of the tooth; damage to bridges, existing fillings, crowns or porcelain veneers; loss of tooth structure in gaining access to canals; and cracked teeth. During treatment, complications may include blocked canals due to fillings or prior treatment; natural calcifications; broken instruments; curved roots; periodontal disease (gum disease); and splits or fractures of the teeth.
- CrownsOur Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) will review post-op instructions with you immediately after your procedure. You can also expect a follow-up text from our office following your treatment. In most cases, a return visit to your general dentist will be necessary for permanent restoration of your filling or crown.

- Restorative DentistryDr. Michael Shapiro was born and raised in Calgary, Canada and completed his undergraduate dental training at the University of Manitoba in 1999. He continued his education, completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Michigan in 2000, after which he taught restorative dentistry. Dr. Shapiro practiced full-time comprehensive general dentistry until 2013 when his passion for endodontics led him to pursue specialty training in the University of Michigan graduate endodontics program. Dr. Shapiro continues to teach part-time, both at the undergraduate and graduate level is an Active Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists, and is involved in several different dental societies. When not practicing or teaching endodontics, he enjoys cooking, golfing, reading and spending time with his beautiful wife Lainie (a local orthodontist), and two beautiful children.

- Maxillofacial SurgeryDr. Steven Edlund received his undergraduate education at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Following several years as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident at the University of Michigan Health Systems, he turned his interest toward the study of Endodontics. He received his Endodontic training and Master of Science degree in Endodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. During his graduate training, he taught preclinical and clinical Endodontics to dental students and continues to hold a position as a clinical instructor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and is an Active Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists. He currently resides in Ann Arbor with his wife and two children.

- General DentistryDDS, MS Dr. Young Bin Bok was born and raised in South Korea. He is an accomplished endodontist, completing his dental school and specialty training at Yonsei University in 2001 and 2004. Following his education, he served in the Korean Army as a Dental Officer from 2004 to 2007. In 2008, he moved his family to Ann Arbor to complete the Internationally Trained Dentist Program at the University of Michigan. This earned Dr. Bok his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2010. After graduation, he practiced general dentistry in New Jersey for 6 years. Dr. Bok always had a passion for doing root canals, which led him back to the University of Michigan to specialize again. He completed this training earning his Master of Science degree in Endodontics. In his free time, Dr. Bok enjoys playing golf, traveling, watching Michigan sports, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
