WHAT A SCAM! DO NOT USE THE COMPANY!!!!!
I paid this company a large sum of money with a cashier's check as they required. I tried to use a credit card initially but they said they couldn't because it is a large amount. (Don't forget this part) I believe they're used to chargebacks or something. What a joke!
It is also the company's policy to hold your belongings until you pay. And I totally understand that. I received a receipt from the delivery guy and they (2 young men) unloaded my belongings. So... Why would the company unload the truck if I didn't pay? I paid.
Then... WAIT FOR IT... they lost the check! How convenient. The guy said the check was stolen from the check. Now, they're claiming I refused to pay. Accounting 101: write down the check number and the issuing bank.
They charged my debit card for the exact same amount as the cashier's check without my authorization. Here's the sad part: I never gave them my debit card information. They must've gotten it from the broker. That's fraudulent.
Next time, don't lose your checks!
I will continue to post this until you show me proof that I authorized this transaction!
DO NOT use this company under any circumstances. They lie so much they should all consider running for public office. Trust these reviews when people say their stuff arrived damaged, late, & the company not answering calls or returning calls. On June 2nd I called this company, the owner of the company, Dennis, told me that he would pick up my stuff on June 16th in Farmington Hills and have it to me in Virginia on June 21st, because they "go out that way all the time." I paid him a deposit, he answered all my questions and was very quick at calling me back. The customer service at this point was superb. On June 15th, the dispatcher, June called me and said that they had overbooked for June 16th and would not be able to pick up my stuff that day. FIRST RED FLAG. He said that they would be able to do it June 19th, I had asked if this would delay my stuff getting there, he said no. Everything went down hill from there. June 19th, Movers come. Mike, gave me the vaguest of answers when I asked about the date of my delivery. He claimed he wasn't sure of the date, but that it would be "pretty quick." I said I was told June 21st, is that not accurate? He said he would call me when he got back to the shop. An hour later they called, I picked up expecting them to tell me of the date, and instead, they were calling to reverify my CC number, I said oh, I thought you were calling to give me my delivery date. They said no, I will personally call you back and tell you what the date is for your delivery by the end of the day. Well, the end of the day came, no call back. June 20th I call after not getting a call back, and guess what happens? No one answers. Shocker right? I finally get a hold of someone, the receptionist, Nicole and she tells me the dispatcher June is at lunch and she will tell him to call me back. Well, he must have been at lunch all day because again, no call back. June 21st, I call again, once again, no answer. I quickly realize they are screening my calls. June 22nd, June calls me (3 days later), says my stuff will leave tomorrow morning the 23rd, and it will be there on June 25, or 26. I give him the third degree about what I was told, and why no one called me back. I asked to speak to the manager, he said he has been in Chicago, I said I just talked to him the other day, but he's in Chicago now? And has supposedly been there. I asked June why it took him 3 days to call me back, and he said, "I'm calling you back now aren't I? And if you want, we'll leave your stuff here and you can arrange for another company to come move it." Gee thanks June.... Just what I want to hear when I'm 1000 miles away. He said the driver would call me when they left. (Never happened). June 25th, the driver calls, their truck broke down (no, im not kidding), and they will be delayed. My stuff never came until June 28th, and when it came, it was damaged, and 3 boxes, 2 bags, and 3 pieces of my daughters crib were missing. They had my husband sign a statement that he wouldn't ask his credit card company for a refund on their services. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I haven't. Our missing stuff, is actually insured at 30 cents a pound as to what was lost So basically, if they lost your $4,000 TV that weighs 20 pounds you'll get 6 bucks for it. Sounds like a deal right? As of today July 18th, I have not ever heard back from them regarding what was lost in my move. Reader, BEWARE. This is what I want you to take away from my awful experience. They store your stuff in their storage units after they pick it up, and move it when it suits them, not on the dates they promised you. So moving your stuff that many times, it is bound to get lost. Your belongings will arrive damaged, if they arrive at all. Getting a hold of them after they have your money, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Their customer service is HORRID. But that is to be expected from a company on the border of Detroit who has changed their company name multiple times due
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR MOVING Horrible customer service and horrible experience. Hired company to move a pool table from backyard neighbor to my home. Specifically said you have to drive around block but it is less than a mile. Showed up late with no truck. Did not protect our table during moving and damaged it also damaged our neighbors home and lead mover smelled strongly of alcohol. Wanted to short pay and speak to management about damages and issues, when lead called them June proceeded to tell me I never said they needed a truck and they moved everything properly which was 100% false. Called owner Denis today told us his guy said he wasn't drinking and that they did everything fine they wont discuss damages and hung up and now refuses to answer our phone calls. See you in court. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We have to take them to small claims court because they never delivered our items. We have gone without furniture, clothes, etc. for over a month now. They refuse to supply a delivery date and now have stopped accepting calls.

This company is terrible! I got my stuff 3 months late, they delayed several times, and my stuff was damaged! They never answer their phone and the guys in the office lied about reimburse me for a storage unit that I rented! Please do not use this company.

When my Belongings arrived, I was dismayed to see that all my dishes/ and glassware were broken. They also destroyed furniture and other personal belongings. I can't get any one on the phone to ask about what happened to my things! Very unsatisfying

So far I have been waiting and waiting for my things to arrive and I have yet to be called or notified about my belongings. Its been 7 days and I keep getting this reply from Connie, they will be there tomorrow! I have had it up too my limit with this company. Very unprofessional and they are not organized. I would not recommend their service to a DOG

What a pleasant moving experience I had with Eight Mile Moving & storage Co. I was very nervous on who to hire to move me since I've heard all the horror stories on moves from Hell. After talking to my friend who recently moved, he told me about the great job Eight mile did for him. I contacted them and talked to Denis who gave me a free no obligation estimate, I was very pleased with his professionalism and hired them to move me from Livonia to Northville. The crew he sent out and did a great job for me, no damages and under budget, what more could you ask for !! Thanks guys, Mark J.

1.) In my quote email and via conversation on the phone, I was not informed there was a 3 hour minimum! It took the movers about 2 hours (rounding up, really took 1.5 hours) to complete the job. On my work order it states the start and finish time to = 2 hours but I was charged for 2.5 hours. So I was definitely overcharged according to the quote. 2.) I scheduled my appt. for 10:30am but the movers did not arrive until about 7:15pm that I had to patiently wait for hours for them to arrive (not to mention I took the day off work for no reason) and without notice from the company - I had to follow up myself. The movers were so tired, when they moved my stuff in my apartment they gave me my work order without re-assemblying my furniture. I found my service to be poorly conducted, unprofessional and misleading rates.

Denis and his crew were extremely polite and completed our move with courtesy, respect and professionalism. They were on time. They delivered my household stuff and my car safely and without any issues. They are excellent movers. I highly recommend them for all your moving need in state or inter states.
