Dr. Alan Rothstein graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1986 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Dr. Rothstein earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1990 and also his post-graduate certificate in Periodontology in 1992 from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. After graduating, Dr. Rothstein went into private practice dentistry, working at dental offices in New York and New Jersey. Dr. Rothstein also taught at the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery (as both a part time and full-time professor) and at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey — New Jersey Dental School. Dr. Rothstein opened A R Periodontics, P.C. in February 1999. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the New York State Dental Association, the New York County Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Tri-County Dental Society, and also the New Jersey Dental Association.
