On May 11, 2011, I was passing through Livingston, Montana on my way home to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After an overnight stay, I decided to take a side-trip up to Yellowstone National Park. Just over halfway there, the "check engine" light came on. I turned back, and was told to take it to American Auto. I now know why. While I have not dealt with other shops in town, Mike greeted me like he knew me, and within a brief time, his team of mechanics had diagnosed a minor emission problem which would pose no real problem. As it turned out, the light went out shortly after departing. I was impressed with the entire experience. I was treated with courtesy and respect and charged a nominal fee. Mike is an engaging personality and certainly knows his business. Thanks to the guys at American Auto from a grateful Canadian.
