Established in 1959 as the South Jeffco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District, the Foothills Park and Recreation District provides a range of entertainment and social opportunities for children, youths and adults. It has more than 40 developed park sites, over 20-mile trails, nearly 15 reservoirs, conservation areas and regional parks. The Foothills Park and Recreation District s park grounds are spread over an area of more than 2,250 acres. It caters to the recreational needs of over 90,000 individuals through approximately 4,000 instructive programs for people of all ages. The district offers various programs, including rock climbing, gymnastics, golf, ice skating, hockey, wellness and aquatics. It additionally provides space for birthday parties, meetings and community events. The Foothills Park and Recreation District is located in Littleton, Colo.
