The Office of Motor Vehicle is responsible for the administration of vehicle registration, title and lien perfection laws. It is governed by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. The office examines various title applications submitted in revenue offices for accuracy and compliance with state laws. It additionally assists with the registration of trucks and trailers that are engaged in the interstate transportation of goods and materials. The Office of Motor Vehicle also assists with the renewal of vehicle tags. The office provides vehicle record information and procedural instruction to the public. It issues specialty plates and placards for colleges, universities and military branches.
