Established in 1984, KABF 88.3 FM is a nonprofit, noncommercial, community-supported radio station that offers alternative listening programs throughout central Arkansas. It provides 24-hour broadcasting services. The station s weekly programming includes more than 15 hours of blues, over 10 hours of bluegrass and nearly 25 hours of black gospel music. KABF 88.3 FM also airs progressive country, alternative rock and jazz music, as well as other experimental programs. It additionally produces several call-in talk shows that feature opinions from communities. The station specializes in broadcasting programs related to community issues. KABF 88.3 FM serves more than 50,000 regular listeners per week. Its programs include Educational Perspectives, Literary Nation, Sacred Gospel, Radio Americana, and Heartbeat of the Nation.
