Dr. Bennett received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2000 and completed her psychiatry residency training in 2004. Following residency, she began practicing at Arkansas Psychiatric Clinic which has remained her home base of practice since. She has also worked in community mental health with Health Resources of Arkansas, practiced inpatient psychiatry at the Bridgeway and Baptist Health; participated in clinical trials through APC Research, and was the Medical Director for Bradford Health Services of Little Rock until 2020. She continues in partnership with Senior Works which provides psychiatric services to residents of nursing homes. She is a Board Certified in General Adult Psychiatry and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Arkansas Psychiatric Society, American Medical Association, and the Arkansas Medical Society. Her realm of practice includes outpatient medication management for adults with emphasis on treatment of Mood and Anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and Substance abuse disorders. Her main area of interest is in Women’s mental health with a primary focus in treating perinatal psychiatric disorders. A native Arkansan, Dr. Bennett received the M. Joycelyn Elders Community Service Award in 2003 for her contributions toward the establishment of the Dr. Robert E. Elliott Foundation, created in memory of her father Robert Elliott who suffered from depression and died by suicide in 2001. The foundation’s mission is to provide a lifeline of hope by offering services, education, resources, and support to people with depression and to survivors of suicide.
