Saputo Cheese USA is a cheese manufacturer and a subsidiary of Saputo, a publicly traded Canadian-based food manufacturer. In the United States, Saputo offers a range of cheese products sold under the brand names Stella, Frigo, Dragone, Treasure Cave, Gardenia, Lorraine Cheese and Saputo. Saputo manufactures and markets a complete line of cheeses ranging from mozzarella to cheddar and including fine cheeses, specialty cheeses and string cheeses. The company s varied line of cheese products includes mozzarella, asiago, bocconcini, caciocavallo, fiorella, fontinella, friulano, gorgonzola, parmesan, pastorella, provolone, ricotta, romano, trecce, tuma and seven varieties of cheddar. In 2005, the company acquired Fromage C t S.A. and Distributions Kingsey, as well as Schneider Cheese, a producer of string cheeses and cheese sticks in the U.S. Saputo employs more than 8,500 people and operates nearly 50 plants in North and South America.
