Sandhills Publishing Company is an information processing organization. The company publishes trade publications for the construction, trucking, aircraft and computer industries, as well as consumer computer magazines. Sandhills also provides specialized electronic information services for the construction equipment industry and offers electronic versions of its publications on the Internet. The publications and Web sites produced by the company include Machinery Trader, PC Today, TractorHouse.com and Executive Controller. Established in 1978, Sandhills Publishing, then known as Peed Corporation was located in Webster City, Iowa. The company relocated to Lincoln, Neb. In Lincoln, the company changed its name to Sandhills Publishing, named after the sandhill cranes that make an annual migration in early spring from Texas to Canada and stop en masse in Nebraska s Plate River Valley for food and rest. In 2000, the company opened an additional facility in Scottsdale, Ariz.
