Buies Creek Elementary School, founded in 1949, offers education to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Its academic curriculum includes English, language arts, reading, mathematics, science and social studies. The school also provides classes in arts, music and physical education. Additionally, the school provides counseling sessions in various life-management skills, such as communication, decision-making, conflict resolution and problem solving. The school also has a parent-teacher organization that collects funds for purchasing playground equipment and supplies for classrooms. Buies Creek Elementary School houses more than 10 classrooms and is a part of Harnett County Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools.
