  To help keep your teeth in their healthiest state, regular teeth cleanings by our hygienist are necessary. Plaque and tartar will form in hard-to-reach places and eventually, if not removed, will create cavities. This can also lead to gum disease, which causes problems both for your teeth and for your overall health. Medical research has shown chronic gum infection plays a role in developing or worsening conditions such as diabetes, stroke, and heart disease.

  Children's teeth are more susceptible to decay than adults. They don't do the best job brushing and eat more often, which increases acid in the mouth. But there is a way to help to keep this from happening. One quick and easy treatment with a dental sealant is excellent prevention.

Restorative

• Fillings
  Silver-mercury amalgam fillings have been replaced with aesthetically pleasing composite resin fillings for both front and back teeth. These white fillings contain no metals and are made to match the shade of the tooth. They bond very tightly to tooth structure to lessen the chances of decay starting under the filling. This provides added strength to the tooth. The material allows a very natural look that actually enhances the appearance of your smile, something metal fillings simply can't do.

  With porcelain veneers, you can have the look of years of straightening in as few as two visits! No kidding! Endodontics

• Root Canal Treatment
  No longer are root canals a dreaded procedure for patients. Teeth with infected or damaged roots can be saved with an easier, more advanced procedure of root canal therapy. Dr. Davidson is well experienced in the latest treatment and anesthesia. The tooth is saved by removing the pulp from the interior of the tooth and replacing it with a filling material. A regular filling used for restoring a tooth from decay will not work. This procedure is used instead when the nerve of the tooth is affected.

Prosthodontics

  Do you have dentures because you were told you couldn't get implants due to insufficient bone density? Are you wearing dentures that slip, tilt, or wander, and you would prefer to have the strength and stability of implants? You will be happy to know of a relatively recent breakthrough called mini implants. Mini implants securely anchor your dentures, eliminating slippage and trapped food. They are placed in one visit and are virtually painless. You can look forward to eating the same day you receive them. Additionally, they can often be placed where regular implants cannot, so you can receive the benefits of mini implants even if you are not a candidate for regular implants.

  If you wear dentures, you have probably had the annoyances of slipping and wandering dentures when eating or speaking. You may have tried to take care of this problem with adhesives, only to find they don't do a very good job. Dr. Davidson is pleased to be able to offer these patients overdentures. With just a few posts implanted in your dental arch, your dentures can be locked into place to alleviate all the problems of unstable dentures.
