- Dental ExaminationPrepare to be at your "new patient appointment" for approximately 1.5 hours. During this time, your dentist will get to know you, take a series of teeth photographs, take appropriate radiographs (x-rays), do a comprehensive exam, and formulate a plan of any needed treatment. Once you are fully aware of everything going on in your mouth, you and your dentist will then work together to decide where it is most ideal to begin.
- X-rays
- Teeth CleaningIn order to provide the best possible care for our patients, we ask that you give our office twenty-four hours notice concerning any changes or a cancellation with your appointment. This allows us the opportunity to give that appointment to another patient in need. A fee of $25.00 for a hygiene (teeth cleaning) appointment and a fee of $50.00 for each appointment hour scheduled for an operative appointment with a doctor will be incurred without twenty-four hours notice.
- FillingsThese fillings are also much sturdier, kinder to the surrounding tooth structure, and offer more support than amalgam fillings, which were prone to cracking due to their metal material. Because composite resin doesn’t expand and contract, they are crack-resistant and less likely to cause damage to your teeth.
- Resin CompositeComposite resin fillings match the color of your teeth so that they blend in and leave you with a gorgeous smile that no one can even tell contains fillings. Aside from the aesthetic benefits, composite resin fillings are healthier, better sealed, and less prone to damage than traditional amalgam silver fillings.
- VeneersVeneers are thin tooth-shaped porcelain dental prosthetics that are designed to cover the front surface of your teeth. Because veneers are completely custom-made, they can treat a wide variety of cosmetic issues. Porcelain veneers cover stains, chips, broken teeth, gaps, and even misshapen or slightly crooked teeth.
- CrownsWhat happens if you have dental crowns, fillings, or other restorations? Can they be whitened just like natural teeth? Let's dive into this important question, shall we?
- BridgesThere are specialized tools that can make cleaning underneath and between your dental bridge much easier. Try investing in a water flosser, a floss pick, a floss threader, or an interdental brush.
- Dental BondingBoth veneers and dental bonding can help you fix small chips and cracks or mask stains. But, although they seem to offer the same benefits, they work differently.
- Restorative DentistryIf you’re missing one or more teeth in Lexington and you’re interested in orthodontic treatment with ClearCorrect, Palmetto Dental Associates is here to help. - Root Canal TreatmentExtractions are necessary when one of your teeth is unhealthy or damaged and can’t be saved with other treatments like a crown or root canal. For example, if your tooth is severely cracked and broken due to dental trauma from decay or an accident, it may need to be extracted and replaced.
- DenturesWe discuss some of the top signs that dentures may be a good choice for restoring your smile, your bite, and your self-confidence.
- Dental ImplantsIn a day and age when impersonal corporate dental offices are a-dime-a-dozen, PDA takes pride in providing comprehensive and esthetic dental care in a relaxed, professional, and positive environment where each patient is truly treated as part of the family. - Oral SurgeryTrudy was referred to our office by a dental specialist for restorative work after major oral surgery. Utilizing a combination of individual crowns and cemented bridge-work, she received the smile of a life-time. Her only regret, “I wish I had done this many years ago! My smile now looks as young as I feel - and my favorite part is how natural they appear!” We are so happy that we got to be a part of Trudy's smile journey!
- Tooth ExtractionsHaving a tooth extracted may seem intimidating; but sometimes, an extraction is the best way to restore your oral health, prevent further complications, and restore your smile. At Palmetto Dental Associates, we specialize in gentle tooth extractions. Dr. Shull and Dr. Stanford are here to help you get the care you need.
- Bone GraftingDr. Franklin Shull or Dr. Justin Stanford may recommend bone grafting to restore your jaw bone before your procedure. With the aid of a bone graft, you can often get a dental implant even if your jaw bone is compromised, thereby allowing you to smile proudly once again.
- OrthodonticsIn addition, you may not be a good candidate if you have severe orthodontic problems. Traditional orthodontics like braces are more versatile and powerful than ClearCorrect, and are usually recommended for major bite issues and extremely crooked teeth.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsThe exact treatment process varies depending on your case. But, in general, orthodontic treatments like Invisalign and restorative treatments like dental crowns and dental implants are done first. Once your teeth are healthy and are properly aligned, further cosmetic treatments like whitening, bonding, and veneers will be done to improve the appearance of your smile.
