I signed up with Stewart Staffing here in Lexington, NC. They called me on June 23, 2010 at around 9:30 am and said that they had work for me and to come as soon as possible so they could do a Drug Screening. Upon arrival I was handed a piece of paper that they needed signed before they gave me the screening. The paper was permission for them to charge me $20.00 for the drug screening and that Stewart Staffing would not be liable for the cost and solely the employee's responsibility. I almost signed it because I have been out of work for so long, but I knew that it was not legal for them to do this. I told the lady that handed me the paper that I had not problem taking the drug test but they couldn't charge me for the test. All she would say was that she could not give me the Job if I refused to pay. I just want to make people aware that this is WRONG. If you don't stand up for something......You'll fall for anything!!!
