Harrison Elementary School, located in Lexington, Ky., is affiliated with the Fayette County Public Schools. Founded in 1849, the school offers a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 200 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It various programs, including English, arts, music, science, social studies, mathematics and physical education. Harrison Elementary School also provides reading, spelling, writing, health education and social skills programs. Additionally the school offers drug abuse resistance education, student assistance team, suspensions and failure eliminated, and junior achievement programs. It provides various special programs, such as family resource center, Girl Scouts, boys club, early start, direct instruction, high scope, reading recovery and Harrison healthy kids center.
