General Info
We are a full service engineering consulting firm. We are licensed as an engineering firm in Kentucky and have additional registrations in West Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Using the latest software available in AutoCAD, SurvCADD, Sedcad, REAME, and Carlson, we are able to provide services for the coal industry including mine permitting and design, reserve modeling, and mineral property evaluation. Other environmental services are also available for the extractive mineral and construction industries. Our specialties lie in mining engineering issues such as regulatory compliance, mine planning, mine seal construction, ventilation and roof support designs. However, in addition to our mining engineers we also have civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineers ; 404 experts ; and an insurance agent experienced in coal reclamation bonding issues. ErMC is also a leader in electronic surface mine permitting in Kentucky. ErMC worked closely with Kentucky Division of Mine Permits personnel in the development of the file structure and standard operating procedure that has since been implemented as standard practice for all companies using the DMP electronic format. ErMC 's system of electronic permitting has saved our clients thousands of dollars in paper, supplies, and time. In addition to our companies providing individual services under our separate companies, ErMC2 and Stagg Resource Consultants ( STAGG ) became members of Woodbridge Group, LLC, in July 2005 and continue working toward a complete merger. It is only a statement of our collective workloads that the merger is not yet complete. STAGG is a nationally recognized natural resource consulting firm formed by Alan Stagg more than 30 years ago. Stagg, a professional geologist of national reputation, has spent more than 40 years in the mining industry, beginning his career with New Jersey Zinc Company in its newly formed exploration program in the southeastern U.S. This program resulted in the discovery of the first major zinc district in the country in more than 50 years. As exploration activities waned and mine development began, Stagg was given the responsibility for developing and implementing The Zinc Company's entry into the coal industry. The company's initial acquisition was the Mary Helen operation in Harlan County, Kentucky. In early 1975 Stagg resigned his position as Manager-Coal to begin his consulting practice. Stagg initially began as a group of exploration and mining geologists and has now evolved into a full-service consulting firm that employs geologists, operations-related professionals, mineral economists, financial analysts, environmental professionals, and a staff of support people skilled in research, computer applications, and data analysis. The firm routinely works in the coal, petroleum, metals, and industrial mineral sectors. Members of STAGG have extensive experience in the geologic and operational assessment of a wide variety of mineral deposits and producing mines and have worked in every coal basin in the U.S. STAGG also has an extensive history of projects requiring the valuation of mineral properties. STAGG provides a comprehensive range of geologic services of provided, from pre-project field reconnaissance through the development and implementation of major exploration programs. STAGG has extensive experience in conducting major geologic studies for coal and a wide variety of metallic and industrial rocks and minerals. In terms of mining services, STAGG provides pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, mine planning and design studies, the preparation of permit applications, and process plant evaluation and design.
