Founded in 1968, Crawford Middle School offers classes from grades sixth through eighth. Its curriculum includes language arts, science, social studies, reading, math, and health and physical education. It offers accelerated reader program, elective classes in art, home economics and industrial arts, and special education programs. Its extracurricular programs include remediation program, Title 1 reading, math club, band, orchestra, chorus, yearbook, beta club, academic team, student council, resource elective program, math portfolio program, technology team, math bowl, pep club, aviation club, and interscholastic and intramural athletics. The school enrolls more than 940 students, and is operated by the Fayette County Public Schools. The middle school is located in Lexington, Ky., serving Fayette County.
