Lexington Elementary School offers a range of educational programs to more than 250 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its syllabus includes mathematics, English, social studies, science, language arts and music. The school offers classes in physical, gifted and special education. It also operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising events and programs. The school provides food, health and transportation services. Lexington Elementary School employs a school nurse and counselor. The school maintains a library and media center that stocks books and periodicals and provides links to search engines. In addition, it is a part of Scott County School District 2, which governs various elementary, middle and high schools. The school district serves over 2,900 students, as well as employs nearly 180 staff members.
