Common Ties Mental Health Coalition works to promote the health and wellness of the citizens of Androscoggin County, Maine. It conducts various programs that support recovery from physical and mental illnesses and substance abuse. The coalition has a community integration team that helps adults with mental illnesses and works to improve skills and manage symptoms of illnesses. Common Ties Mental Health Coalition also offers living and housing support, employment, education, and psychiatric and counseling services. It operates a wellness and recovery center that administers several self-help, recreational, and social and health events. The coalition is supported by the Department of Health and Human Services, Maine Office of Substance Abuse, United Way of Androscoggin County, and additional local, state and private sources. Common Ties Mental Health maintains a presence in Lewiston, Maine.
