Founded in 1977, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island is a private nonprofit organization. It offers mentoring, education and support services for children. The organization provides information on abduction, Internet safety and cyber bullying. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island conducts training workshops for parents and teachers in schools, camps and community halls. Additionally, it organizes Sibling Support program that specialize in working with children who have brothers and sisters in need. The organization also invites high-school and college students to mentor teenagers through various school-based programs. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island hosts a range of fund raising events, such as tournaments, races and musical nights. It is located in Levittown, N.Y.
