Provided by YP.comOn Sat 3 /31/18 I made a purchase from the Lenoir City Goodwill store. Part of the purchase was a large nicely framed Craig Bone print. The print was too big for my car. I was told they would hold it for 3 days.
We had had a death in the family Easter week the burial at the Veteran's cemetery fell on 4/3/18. Driving home from the internment remembered I needed to pick up the print so called the store to ask about picking it up. I told them my circumstance and asked if I might wait until the next day as I was weary from the day's events. I was told yes I could pick it up the following day. I did offer to come on that evening...even though I was very tired. I told them I could. I was being cordial. I thanked them profusely and apologized for not picking it up on time.
Today I took our larger car to pick it up. Actually today is 3 days since purchase becasue they were closed on Sunday. I walked in the store and noted the print was not were it was left behind the counter a few days before. She went to the back for a good bit of time. A manager named Leah came out and told me it was sold in the last hour to someone else...that she was just not obligated to hold my purchase any longer. She was very curt and unkind. She just kept telling me she was not obligated to hold it any more. I couldn't find the receipt in my purse and she did not want to give me my money back...she wasn't obligated to do that either without the reciept. I then told her I had signed the book the day of purchase so she had to know I had made the purchase. She then went and looked at the book and decided to refund my money back. However the purchase price was not written in the book...she just happened to remember what the marked price was.
The store is unethical, dishonest and it is a place that you would be doing very well to avoid under the current management. I spend way too much money in the Goodwill stores. I will not make that mistake again in the Lenoir City store again...ever
