Kustom Signals designs and manufactures public safety traffic equipment. Its products include video surveillance equipment, fixed and handheld radar systems, speed trailers and speed displays. The company is headquartered in Lenexa, Kan., and is a subsidiary of Code 3 Public Safety Equipment, a manufacturer of lighting and sound-based warning products used by professionals in emergency response, utility, service fleet and industrial settings. Kustom s manufacturing operations take place in more than 54,000 square feet of facilities, located in Chanute, Kan. Its capabilities include engineering, metal fabrication, printed circuit board assembly utilizing automatic insertion and automated test, final assembly, environmental burn-in and quality assurance. Kustom Signals was founded in 1965 and works closely with several organizations, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and others to develop products and standards which satisfy the requirements of the law enforcement and public safety community.
