Leprino Foods Company is the world's largest producer of premium-quality mozzarella cheese and a United States exporter of whey products. Leprino mozzarella cheese and pizza cheese blends are made especially for pizzeria operators and frozen food manufacturers. Founded in 1950, its premium mozzarella cheese is the uniform source of its high-quality sweet whey, whey protein concentrate and lactose products. Its cheese is made in some of the world s largest mozzarella manufacturing plants from Grade A milk. In its plants, Leprino pasteurizes, coagulates, cuts and cooks, then sends the whey off to be stretched, cooled, shredded and packaged. In 2006, Leprino Foods was listed by Forbes as the 149th-largest private company. It has several facilities, including one in Lemoore, Calif.
