Adam Smith, DO, served with the police force in Bowling Green for five years before pursuing a medical degree at University of Pikeville - Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He continued his medical training with a residency in psychiatry at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Smith provides outpatient care at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center, both in person and via telehealth. He treats all mental health disorders in adult and geriatric patients, including depression, anxiety, bipolar and psychotic disorders, dementia and substance-use disorders. Dr. Smith says the most rewarding part of being a psychiatrist is helping to change the trajectory of someone's life by successfully treating their crippling depression, anxiety or other mental illness and improving their overall quality of life.
