On Friday, I made an appointment for my dog to get a round of shots. I was given a time of today, Monday at 2:20 pm. I am going in for organ donation surgery on Sunday evening and will be in the hospital for a good week. My dog needs to be boarded so I wanted to make sure he's up to date on everything. My fianc took a half day at work, which he really can't afford to since he will be out so much over the next few weeks, and drove our dog a half hour to Hilltop. Upon arrival, he checked in and a woman (the vet) started yelling at him "YOU'RE LATE!!" He said his apt was at 2:20. She insisted it was at 1:40- I wrote down the time of 2:20 twice during this phone call, once when it was given and once when I confirmed, so it was absolutely 2:20. She then yelled "IF YOU WANNA BE SEEN YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO WAIT!" "Actually, I don't have time to see you today!!". Even if he did come for the wrong time, which he didn't, there is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior from a professional, or anyone for that matter. He then had to leave the clinic an drive home another 30 minutes when he desperately needed to be working. He said in 32 years that is the worst experience he's ever had as a customer. I've tried calling for the last hour and no one will pick up the phone. 1 star seems to be too generous for this place.

We have been going to this clinic for a year now. We had gotten a new puppy and were recommended to this clinic saying that they were awesome, had cheap prices and we're very experienced and knowledgeable. We received great care and they were very flexible with our work schedule to get appointments. So needless to say we were very shocked to receive the treatment we were given when we called to inform them that our dog was hit by a car and killed. We hadn't even finished saying that we wanted her creamated when they said sorry for your loss and hung up. So we called back and they said what did you want us to do in a very nasty manner. We did not bring our dog there to be creamated since there was no compassion what so ever. We were lucky enough to receive excellent service at another clinic, Spencer Veterinary Hospital. They were very understanding about our situation and took us right away and treated us with kindness and compassion. I would think that a vet would show compassion through all stages of care and we certainly did not see that with this vet. I would not bring another one of my animals here again nor would I recommend anyone to them.

Our family has been with Dr. Nygard for many, many years, and wouldn't consider going to any other vet. Dr. Nygard truly loves animals and goes well above and beyond to provide the highest quality of care at a reasonable cost. She provides detailed education and support and is readily available for emergencies.We have put our trust in her and recommend her to all our family and friends. She is awesome! The Rbear clan

I would highly recommend this animal clinic. Dr. Barbara Nygard-Besse treats all of the animals as if they were her own. The quality of care is outstanding. She is diligent with following up on any illness or injuries to make sure that the animal is always improving. They treat your animals as if they were royalty!

Dr. Nygard is one of the best veterinarians in the area. I have been bringing my animals to her for years. She is very knowledgeable in veterinary medicine and strives to heal my animals without putting me in the "poor house". I would recommend Dr. Nygard to anyone who wants the best for their animals.
