General Info

Many years ago, when I was a resident, I was told that to be a successful surgeon, I needed to remember the three As: be affable, available and possess the ability to care for the patient. I would add one more quality… I am accountable to the patient for the care I give, and the trust that is placed in me. I am a well-trained community general surgeon. Embodied by that statement are the principals of a broad-based training in the spectrum of surgical problems and 26 years of surgical practice. As a community general surgeon, I treat a wide variety of common conditions and perform a variety of common operations as well as being available for urgent problems as they arise. My goal is to offer personal and compassionate care as close to home as can be achieved. This is not an exhaustive list, but the scope of my practice includes: skin and subcutaneous lesions, breast surgery, colon and rectal surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia repair and wound care. Outside of my professional life, I am a husband and father with three adult children. I enjoy motorcycling and volunteering with Special Olympics in support of my oldest child.
